AGFA ANSCO Corporation Binghamton, NY Formed in 1928 by the USA operations of Agfa and the well established ANSCO Company. This venture combined not only the prestige of the two names, but also resulted in some cameras which incorporated ideas and patents of the two companies. Some export models of cameras made by Agfa in Germany, and all USA-made ANSCO cameras were marketed under the Agfa ANSCO label. In 1939, the company name was changed to General Aniline & Film Corporation. The Agfa ANSCO label continued to be used until 1943 when the Agfa name was dropped and “ANSCO” continued alone. To oversimplify, ANSCO became “Agfa ANSCO” from about 1928-1943. It is common to find the same camera under different names. Isolette III 1952-60 Made in USA. Speedex Special c1953 Made in Germany
