Scanning info

[Home] [Up] [Scanning Artical]

I am using a EPSON Perfection 636 U Scanner that I bought a few years back. This model has served me well I have the transparence adapter for it which will allow up to 4x5 negatives. Many times when you scan it is easy to over scan for the intended purpose. Scanning should be done with the final output in mind. You need much less to display on a screen "web page" than to print out a 8x10 print. If your scans are to large for the web than will slow down your down loads of each page. Another thing to consider is the Resolution you start with and the compression factor that you save the image. This started out just putting images on my web to go along with some of the old cameras that I have.

My initial settings are Color Photo ...... These are scanned 5x7 prints and some are Sepia Toned

Screen Vivid

72 DPI
