Again that trusted Dremal is put to work with a steel brush. |
| This is as far I went, tighten the gear and make sure all the area
is clean with nothing jamming any gear. Look for dirt or anything that would
cause problems |

Start putting it all back together. The less lubricant used the better. |
| Careful that center is not pushed out pull the "Hook" back while
reinserting the gear. Notice the two scribed lines. If you need to turn any
gear turn just the small one. |

Clean and all aligned. |
| Before putting the top plate on I like to test it all first. |

Mount the winder knob to check the winding mechanism. I than
go through all 11 frames cocking and firing the shutter each time. |
| The bottom side of the winder knob sometimes gets rounded of
after 50+ years. |

web_small.jpg) |
The winder knob must be installed 90 degrees out between the
slot and the shaft. |
| Before installing the winder knob if rounded take a file and
re-square the back area. |

The front eye piece can be removed with a wood block or some
other non marring tool. |
| With front the eye piece removed the glass surfaces can be
cleaned including the front of the range finder. |

This is part of the range finder/view finder it is easily
removed for cleaning if need be (I'll show that at a later time) |
| The part of the range finder that does the ranging can be
cleaned at the same time. |

I have read many different ways of gluing or cementing the
leather down. First do not use a permanent glue ...Barge, Epoxy or Super
Glue the leather will need to be removed to get to screws underneath. I have
used Polybond but prefer wood carpenters glue even a white or Elmer's
glue. It's water soluble, no fumes and is easy to clean up any over spills.
Just apply a thin coat of glue and wet the leather before putting back on. |
| On this small piece it is easily just pushed down firmly,
remove any excess glue and allow to dry. |
